Beyoglu

Among the historical districts of Istanbul, Beyoglu has a special place, being the second area of the city to be populated after the old peninsula between the Golden Horn and the Marmara Sea. Beyoglu is located on the European side of the city, over the Golden Horn from the city center of Fatih. Mostly known as Pera through the middle ages and occupied with a cosmopolitan population, the district has a long history, evolving from the neighborhood of Galata (today known as Karakoy), where many Genoese and Venetian buildings can still be found.

Atasehir

One of the smaller districts of Istanbul, Atașehir is located in the Anatolian part of Istanbul, is among the most modern suburban districts of the city. A major housing development project is underway here, with thousands of luxury residences being built inside tall blocks that sometimes reach the height of veritable skyscrapers.

Sile and Agva

Șile is one of the largest districts of Istanbul, located in the far east part of the city, along with the coast of the Black Sea, on the Asian side. Șile covers a large surface, but only has a population of about 25,000 people, with two bigger towns, Șile and Ağva, as well as several other villages and communities. The district is mostly a short holiday destination for the inhabitants of Istanbul, many having summer residences here and greatly increasing the population during the summer.

Bakirkoy

Istanbul is very well organized and if you know where you want to go, there are plenty of things to see and do in each district and neighborhood of the city.
